The military children’s charity, Little Troopers, has launched a series of free outdoor adventure breaks for forces families to spend quality time together.

Coastal bushcraft, kayaking and raft building are on the programme for the All Together reconnection weekends, along with time to relax on the beach watching the sunset with a hot chocolate. They’re aimed at families about to face, going through or after a deployment or period of separation.

Funded by Team Forces, they are open to families with up to four children aged nine and over and they’ve been organised so the small number of five to six families taking part will have an enjoyable break and make memories.

Little Troopers founder Louise Fetigan said: “Easing periods of separation and helping military children to connect with their parents has always been a core part of the support offered by Little Troopers, so we’re really excited to be launching these new weekends and helping families to carve out special time together.

“These events form part of our broader All Together programme which is all about bringing together young people from across the military community to benefit from spending time with others who have shared similar life experiences.” Booking is now open for the first weekend from 2 May to 4 May at Portland in Dorset. More follow on 13 June in the New Forest, Hampshire; 27 July at Wareham in Dorset and 26 September, again in Portland.

Each weekend runs from Friday to Sunday and is free of charge. One or both parents are welcome and up to four children aged 9-18. Families will be given their own private bedroom. For more information about Little Troopers All Together visit littletroopers.net
