RECRUIT for Spouses (RFS), an award-winning social enterprise, has secured funding from the Veterans’ Foundation to support its coaching programme, which aims to assist the wives, husbands and partners of members of our armed forces back into gainful employment.

The RFS coaching programme, which is free and open to all military spouses, enables spouses to talk through their thoughts, hurdles and aspirations with a professional RFS coach, providing them with the tools to make decisions about moving forward professionally.

The programme forms six weeks of one-hour sessions. The coaches, who volunteer their time, are carefully selected from RFS’ partners to ensure they are familiar with the environment of a military spouse looking to get back into the workplace.

The Veterans’ Foundation, a nationwide source of funding for Armed Forces charities and charitable activities, supported the programme in recognition of the fact that military spouses and partners are frequently disadvantaged in the workplace, facing bias over their lifestyle choice which affects their career opportunities.
