Army&You, the flagship magazine of the Army Families Federation (AFF), has scooped a silver award at the Chartered Institute of Public Relations’ (CIPR) PRide Awards.

After being selected for a six-strong shortlist in the Best External Publication category, the quarterly title impressed a national panel of judges to take the second-place prize in the South of England and Channel Islands region.

Editor Charlotte Eadie and Deputy Editor Lisa Youd were joined by Steve Tyler and Andy Simms, of the magazine’s publishers TylerBale Communications, to receive the award during a ceremony in Bristol.

Charlotte said: “It is a great honour to receive the CIPR award.

“We will continue to ensure that Army families receive a high quality magazine which informs, entertains and communicates useful information to our readers.”

Since its launch in autumn 2013, Army&You has provided a lively mix of news and features to Service families living in the UK and abroad.

Andy said: “We are delighted that the hard work of the Army&You team has been recognised with this award.

“The magazine was up against some very strong competition and for such a small team to have come away with this accolade is an outstanding achievement.

“Re-launching the magazine has been an exciting project and we look forward to continuing to help the AFF serve everybody with a soldier in their life.”

Speaking during the awards ceremony, Pam Lloyd, Chair of CIPR South West, said that each of the organisations shortlisted for an award should be “prouder than ever before”.

She added: “It took a great deal of conviction in the quality of your work to enter it into PRide 2014 which represents the highest standards in public relations and extends far beyond your own region.

“If you walk away with a Silver or Gold award tonight, please be truly delighted at this achievement.”

Army&You is for everyone with a soldier in their life, including spouses, parents, grandparents, partners, Army Reserve families and friends of soldiers.
