Little Troopers has just launched its 2023 ‘Christmas Smiles’ campaign, in which 2,500 Christmas boxes will be sent to families with a serving parent deployed on military operations over the holidays. This year the boxes will be full of seasonal goodies as well as resources to support families through time apart. Families will receive:

  • Deployment countdown sheets
  • Deployment craft sheets
  • Deployment ‘X-Ray of feelings’ illustration and worksheet
  • Little Troopers affirmation cards

Little Troopers are encouraging welfare units to apply for the ‘Christmas Smiles’ boxes on behalf of families who are facing deployment over the festive season. Around 100 boxes will also be delivered to families who live unaccompanied.

The festive season is a particularly difficult time for military families to be apart. The ‘Christmas Smiles’ boxes are designed to help children feel connected to their absent parent and encourage them to talk about their feelings during this difficult time.

In early December, the boxes will be packed at Bovington Garrison, if you are local and have time to help spread some seasonal cheer, please contact the team at Little Troopers.

More information about the campaign will be released in the Little Troopers newsletter, you can join the mailing list by visiting Little Troopers
