SERVICE Dogs UK is on the lookout for dog-loving people in West Sussex, Surrey and East and North Hampshire.‬‬‬

As the charity grows, it is in need of more temporary foster homes for the rescue dogs it has under assessment.

Once a dog is selected from rescue for having the potential as an assistance dog, they go into foster care for four-to-six weeks for further assessment and training before being partnered with a veteran of the Armed Forces or emergency services.

Fostering is extremely rewarding, but it can be difficult – especially in the beginning when you will need patience as each dog needs time to settle in.

The charity needs foster carers who can carry out basic positive re-enforcement training in conjunction with professional dog trainers. For more information, click here to find out more.

If you can’t foster yourself but know someone who could, please tell them about Service Dogs UK and help give a Service dog a temporary home.
