CELEBRATE this year’s Armed Forces Day at Peninsula Barracks, Winchester, with exciting activities and displays for all ages as part of On Parade, an event from the city’s military museums.
The event, on June 28, will feature a host of military vehicles, living history re-enactors, face-painting and paintballing – all set in this wonderful, historical venue.
Free entry to all six military museums begins from 1030 and the on-site Café Peninsula will be open to serve refreshments.
Step back in time
A nostalgic atmosphere will be provided by The Spitfire Sisters as they perform popular songs from the 1940s, wearing fashions from that era. There will also be music from The Rifles Band & Bugles.
Army and Air Cadets and representatives from local regiments including The Rifles, will be on parade during the day.
Rifles Collection curator Melanie Marsh said: “We are delighted to host this annual event in the beautiful city of Winchester, with its historic and current military connections.
“I can’t imagine a better or more fitting venue than right here in Peninsula Barracks, the home of The Rifles Headquarters.”
