The support we all receive from our families has been a key feature of the era of campaigning that is almost behind us.
None of us could serve our friends, our Regiments, the Army or the Nation without that support and encouragement.
This is a good time to reflect on that, to spend quality time with partners and families and to repay that support.
This opportunity is of course denied to those of you stagging-on on operations who are, as ever, very much in our thoughts. I hope you will be able to make up for it soon.
Wherever you may be, best wishes for the Season and for the New Year. And above all thank you for all you have done over the past year, wherever your service has taken you. Your contribution to the success of the Army is hugely appreciated.
