FIGHTING WITH Pride is urging veterans affected by the historic ban on LGBTQ+ personnel serving in the Armed Forces to come forward before the LGBT+ Financial Recognition Scheme closes on 12 December 2026.
The scheme offers financial recognition and restorative measures to those who suffered dismissal, discharge, loss of career opportunities or other impacts because of their sexual orientation or gender identity while serving.
Many veterans remain unaware that they may be eligible. Families, friends and former colleagues can play a vital role in helping to reach those affected.
Fighting With Pride provides confidential support, guidance on accessing restorative measures and assistance throughout the application process.
