Soldiers in Mind is a free independent service for Forces families who have been affected in the line of duty. The charity, which is funded by the Lt Dougie Dalzell MC Memorial Trust, was set up to support Service families by providing:
- welfare support and co-ordination of military and civilian services
- educational briefs for families during pre-deployment, R&R and homecoming
- support to bereaved families.
Soldiers in Mind works closely with welfare teams and not only gives emotional and mental support but also offers items such as memory boxes, combat teddy bears and stars named in the soldier’s memory, which are sources of great comfort to families.
