Sir Michael Morpurgo, author of over 150 books including War Horse and Kensuke’s Kingdom, recently spent an afternoon at the National Army Museum, London, with tri-service military families for a special event organised by the charity Reading Force.

Sir Michael is a much-loved children’s author and patron of Reading Force. He answered questions and signed books for serving and veteran military families from around the UK.

One military family commented, “We had the most amazing day! Sir Michael was wonderful and I could have listened to him for hours! Thank you so much for organising this event.”

After the event, children in the audience were able to explore the National Army Museum and participated in special trails and a lively handling session with objects from rare collections of First and Second World Wars.
