CANINE charity Service Dogs UK was recently established to train and provide assistance dogs to support members of the Armed Forces and emergency services who have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Now, thanks to the generous donations they’ve received so far, it has selected its very first rescue dog, Ajax.

Rescued by Dogs Trust, three-year-old Ajax was picked up as a stray and is currently undergoing assessment to see if he has what it takes to be an assistance dog and partner a veteran with PTSD.

Currently in foster care with the charity’s volunteer dog trainer, Ajax is busy learning the basic commands needed to fulfil his new role – and all the signs are looking good.

Although only covering the South West of England at the moment, the charity eventually plans to expand and offer service dogs to those in need across the UK.

If you would like to get involved with this worthwhile charity, why not visit their Amazon wish list and select an item to help make up their veteran welcome pack?
