LITTLE Troopers has launched its annual search for 13 stars for its 2018 Military Moments calendar.

Members of the Service community are being asked to send in pictures of special moments between serving parents and their families to feature in the calendar, which will be sold to raise money for the charity.

Louise Fetigan, founder and operations manager of Little Troopers, said: “The bond in a family with someone serving in the British Armed Forces is very special and the time they have together with their children is precious.

“Capturing those moments when they are reunited at a homecoming, sharing a military occasion or staying connected while apart provide some of the best memories for our families and we are privileged that so many choose to share them with us.

“The calendar helps us to show the amazing strength and courage that our Little Troopers show during long times apart from mummy or daddy.”

Everyone who enters an image will have the chance to win one of three great prizes and there are also nine runner-up places.

Louise said: “We encourage any family who has a parent serving in the British Army, Royal Air Force, Royal Navy or the Reserves to enter. Military parents can be away for up to nine months a year, which is a long time in a child’s life. The emotion on their faces when they are together is beautiful and our calendars give us a privileged peak into their lives.”

Little Troopers aims to help maintain family bonds through events, resources and initiatives such as the charity’s free Little Troopers Treasures app, which aims to make story time precious every day.

Available exclusively to military personnel, it allows the serving person to choose a book for their child and record a video reading. It also has a memory box for parents and children to share special messages.
