CHILDREN’S author Vivian French teamed up with charity Reading Force for a special launch at Colinton Primary School, Edinburgh.

Vivian, who has penned 300 books including The Cherry Pie Princess and Robe of Skulls and became an author later in life as she was told at school she was no good at writing, guided the children to conjure up their own story, asking what could happen next and giving pointers on what makes a good tale.

The youngsters came up with a wonderful idea about Jeffrold, an anxious tiger and were challenged to complete the story.

Vivian also gave the children a signed book and Service youngsters took home a Reading Force scrapbook to fill with thoughts, notes and drawings with their family.

You can view all the Jeffrold stories on the RF blog at readingforce.org.uk
