Help for Heroes has launched a new campaign for Christmas, asking people to write a message of support to veterans, to reassure them that they’re not alone. The charity predicts that more than 80,000 veterans in Great Britain could spend Christmas lonely and isolated.
Christmas should be a happy season spent with loved ones, however for many veterans this is not the case and this can be especially hard when they have lost their armed forces support structure. These feelings of loneliness can be amplified at Christmas for veterans, especially for those who have mental and physical health challenges related to their service.
