As families find their living expenses exceeding their income could the MOD be persuaded to create allotments on Army land? Local allotments are often subject to a lengthy waiting list which may exclude frequently mobile families from accessing this valuable resource. MOD has a plethora of land – could some of it be freed up to provide families with the opportunity to produce cheap food? Families may not be able to grow produce in their quarter due to fear of move-out issues. This could be an easy goodwill win for the MOD.
