THE Sherman tanks from Hollywood blockbuster Fury, plus many other iconic vehicles, will roll into Bovington for Tankfest 2015 at the Tank Museum this 27-28 June.

The event, sponsored by online game developer Wargaming, will see more than 15,000 people flock to the museum; with guest vehicles and old favourites returning to the arena, why not take the family on a fun-filled day out?

Museum Director, Richard Smith, said: “Wargaming has always been very supportive of The Tank Museum, contributing to restoration projects, building our Education Centre and assisting with new exhibitions.”

TANKFEST2Iconic vehicles on show

This year’s event will feature three Sherman tanks from Fury. These iconic vehicles will be reunited with the Tank Museum’s fearsome Tiger 131, the only running Tiger 1 in the world, for the Grand Finale Battle, which will be a tribute to the last days of World War II and include a salute to the veterans.

Some of the latest equipment from the British Army will take to the arena, as well as:

  • The 38T
  • The Comet
  • The Panzer III
  • A Rolls Royce Armoured car

Immerse yourself in history

Play a few rounds of World of Tanks in the Wargaming specialised mobile gaming truck, or check out the Education Centre inside the Museum to learn about the history of some iconic vehicles.

There will also be an extensive Living History encampment on-site, where you can step back in time and immerse yourself in the era. One of the day’s many highlights will include an original World War II Spitfire and Douglas C-47 Dakota aircraft taking to the skies at Tankfest.
