SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, has signed broadcaster Dan Snow as its newest celebrity ambassador.

The military historian is fronting the charity’s first-ever television advertising campaign, appealing for support for the UK’s Servicemen and women, veterans and their families.

He praised the “vital support” SSAFA provides to the Service community, adding: “The charity has a unique 130-year history, having been in existence throughout both World Wars and every conflict since, which I find fascinating from both a professional and personal perspective.”

David Murray, SSAFA chief executive, said that Dan would bring “enormous gravitas and specialist knowledge” to the organisation, adding: “He has real knowledge and understanding of the work that we do to support British Armed Forces, veterans and their families and we are delighted to announce him as a SSAFA Ambassador.”
