A NEW agreement between the British Forces Post Office (BFPO) and Royal Mail will help you and your soldier to keep in touch with family and friends back in the UK at affordable rates, wherever you are in the world.

In accordance with the Armed Forces Covenant, sending mail to Service personnel and families overseas will remain at inland UK prices. For Servicemen and women on operations, the vital service of keeping in touch with home will remain free.

Lt Gen Paul Jaques, who signed the Forces Mail Settlement on behalf of the MOD, said: “There is nothing like getting a letter from back home, whether you’re a few hours away or on the other side of the world.

“This deal will ensure that friends and family members can continue to support our troops with letters, parcels and packages, with no fear of penalising costs for them or their loved ones.”

Is your area covered?

AFF is aware that most military postings are covered by the BFPO system – but not all. If your area isn’t covered, let us know what impact it has had on your family.
