BUDDING photographers are being invited to pick up their cameras and capture Army-related images for a new charity calendar.

ABF The Soldiers’ Charity has launched a competition to find impactful images from professional and amateur snappers for its 2017 calendar, with prizes on offer for the best shots

Entries will be judged by a panel including journalists Kate Adie and Michael Buerk, Army officials and industry experts. The top three entries will be rewarded with photographic kit from Canon UK and Wex Photographic.

ABF  chief executive Major General (Ret’d) Martin Rutledge said: “We received such a fantastic amount of high-quality entries for the last competition, it was really tough to judge.

“This year we are encouraging all photographers, both amateur and professional, to send in their best pictures of what inspires them about the British Army. It will be very interesting to see what captures their imaginations.”

The competition closes on 30 April 2016. Entries will be shortlisted before being put forward to the judging panel, with the winners announced at the end of May 2016.
