COULD your military family be guests of honour on Armed Forces Day?

The National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire is giving one lucky family a VIP experience at the event, which takes place on Saturday 24 June. You’ll be invited to play an integral role in the proceedings, including the all-important parade and wreath laying ceremony.

You can nominate families of current or former Armed Forces personnel. To apply, entrants will need to submit a supporting statement or short video clip about the deserving family explaining why they should be chosen.

Celebration of our Services

This flagship event at the Arboretum celebrates the work of the Armed Forces. Plans are well advanced for a packed programme of activities that will appeal to all ages, which in previous years has featured flypasts, military drill displays and fun activities including zip lines, climbing walls, and archery.

The lucky family – up to six people – will help take the salute during the parade, be treated to a special lunch, receive tickets to access the Arboretum’s Landscapes of Life exhibition and enjoy a private guided tour of the site.

Nominate a military family

To nominate a family, email a written statement to info@teamtala.com or submit your video entry of up to two minutes duration online at https://armedforcesday.hscampaigns.com  before midnight on 31 May (full T&Cs on the Arboretum website).

Sarah Montgomery, managing director of the National Memorial Arboretum said: “We will be paying tribute to our service families, recognising their day-to-day work both at home and abroad. We look forward to receiving stories and videos from families of past and present service personnel, from all corners of the country and all service branches.

“Armed Forces Day is always a fantastic occasion at the Arboretum, with thousands of military and non-military families gathering to enjoy a wonderful summer’s day out. It’s an opportunity to learn new things about our Armed Forces and the people who serve within them. We look forward to welcoming another huge crowd on this special day and providing a VIP experience for a special family.”
